November 7, 2013 | San Francisco, CA
On November 7th, Thinking Beyond Borders (TBB) hosted a special San Francisco Launch Party. As TBB has made the move to its new permanent home, they took the opportunity to gather with the SF community, introduce their work, celebrate their successes, and rally support.
“Thinking Beyond Borders is an educational non-profit with the mission to empower and inspire students to address critical global issues. Built on the assumption that good intentions and technical skills aren’t enough, TBB’s international programs are a cutting edge intervention that develop high potential youth into highly effective change agents. After seven years of success and exceptional impact, TBB is poised to grow and reshape the nature of social change leadership.”
The event was a wonderful success. We are honored to share some of their account of the evening:
To celebrate our landing in SF and introduce our work, we hosted our TBB Launch Party at The Hub SF on November 7th. We were thrilled to host over 65 leaders from throughout the SF social and business sectors…
Robin Pendoley, TBB’s Founder & CEO, presented our mission, vision, and the educational model. We also debuted the initial findings of our impact assessment, demonstrating that our gap year programs have had an exceptional impact on our students. View the full presentation here:
TBB wants to thank the many people who made this event possible. Beer and wine for the evening was donated by our friends at Firestone Walker Brewing Co. and William Hill Estate Winery, respectively. Our caterer Velvet Valentine and her team provided fantastic eats! Huge thanks to our host committee of Anthony Jewett at Tides Foundation, Raman Frey at Artkick, Whitney Smith of Whit and Wisdom, and Kate Byrne of KB Consulting. And, a special thank you to Kari Hayden Pendoley, without whom this event would not have happened!
